Advising and Editing
Since 2021, I have advised clients on and edited medical school and residency applications part-time.
I have assisted clients who need quick yet quality edits, clients who speak English as an additional language, and clients who needed extra assistance with content development.
⭐To date, I have assisted 38 applicants total to gain acceptances to medical schools and residency programs across the U.S.⭐
Here are some of my reviews:

Teaching
Background:
Earning my bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and English, I have a strong foundation in educational research and practices.
I continued this work during my Ph.D., specializing in composition pedagogy. Studying the teaching of multimodal, interdisciplinary writing, as well as methods to support traditionally underserved students, offer me innovative ways to reach all learners.
Most Recent Teaching Evaluations:
My most recent teaching experience was a full-time position in 2023-2024 at the University of Tampa, where I taught basic writing and first-year composition to diverse students.
Though I had high teaching evaluations, I unfortunately have very small sample sizes of student feedback; both semesters provided a total of 35 students who completed these surveys (17 completed surveys for Fall 2023; 18 completed surveys during Spring 2024). However, I did have impactful, specific feedback from students.
Below are some of these comments from my Spring 2024 official university student evaluation forms:
⭐ AWR201-78: “Professor was very outgoing and approachable which made my classroom experience great.”
⭐ AWR201-79: “Lesson plans correlated with the syllabus and was clear from the beginning all the way to the end of the semester.”
⭐ AWR201-79: “I would always ask Dr. Weiss for her feedback or opinions on my writing and rather than answering my questions like it was a burden, she was always enthusiastic to help in any way possible which I greatly appreciated.”
⭐ AWR201-79: “I was challenged in this course because I attempted a new writing style which all my papers from the semester were centered around. Yet, through it all, Dr. Weiss helped me and the rest of the class take on this challenge.”
⭐ AWR201-79: “Dr. Weiss always provided extra resources under all the modules we had in the course and her presentations were also relevant to her lessons which made it easier to understand new/foreign concepts.”
⭐ AWR201-79: “As a business major, [I] didn’t think I’d be writing as much. However, Dr. Weiss made me realize that even in the business industry, I will encounter many instances where I may be required to write a proposal and how I actually do enjoy writing when I am writing about topics that I enjoy.”
⭐ AWR101-16: “I loved the way Dr. Weiss taught our class. She was super energetic, extremely knowledgeable, and very kind. Easily one of the best professors I’ve ever had.”
Students Enrolled Both Semesters:
Something even more telling about the effectiveness of my teaching was that 13 students, whom I instructed in introductory writing courses in Fall 2023, enrolled in another course with me and completed my research-based academic writing course in Spring 2024.
